根据公告，停产计划分三个阶段推进，4月14日启动首轮裁员，5月恢复部分产能后，工厂将进入长达17个月的停产期。在此期间，通用汽车计划完成设备改造工作，为2026款商用电动汽车的生产做好准备。

加拿大总理马克·卡尼(MarkCarney)在社交平台上发文称，CAMI工厂的裁员是“对英格索尔汽车工人及整个加拿大汽车产业工人的沉痛打击”。他还表示：“我的政府正在努力捍卫我们的汽车行业，保护我们的工人，并在加拿大建设本土供应链。”

在电动车转型浪潮下

去年9月，通用汽车发布消息称，正在费尔法克斯装配厂投资约3.9亿美元，以增加新款雪佛兰Bolt电动车的产量。为了方便安装新工具，将在该工厂进行裁员，共计1695名员工将受到影响。通用汽车表示，在2025年底工厂恢复雪佛兰Bolt电动车生产后，将计划召回这些被裁的全职员工。

据媒体报道，去年，通用汽车在美国电动汽车销量中的份额翻了一番，达到12%，仅次于特斯拉。今年晚些时候，通用汽车将推出下一代Bolt，预计售价约为3万美元，成为其最廉价的电动汽车。行业分析师表示，通用汽车的电动阵容很快将达到十几款车型。

通用汽车还推出了“UltiumCharge360”充电订阅服务。这项服务整合了充电网络、通用旗下品牌的应用程序以及其他产品和服务，旨在为电动汽车车主提供一站式的充电解决方案。

据媒体报道，电动汽车仅占通用汽车去年第四季度总销量的6%左右，且通用汽车的销量仍依赖于大型皮卡和SUV，而这些往往是最难实现电动化的车型。

此外，特朗普上台后取消了电动汽车的优惠政策，叠加关税政策等因素，都将成为对通用汽车完成电动化转型产生重要影响。
